Who We Are
Jim WarrenLivestock market operator in Aromas, California Being a producer in the beef industry today is a lot like I remember it as a 10 year-old kid with my first 4-H project in Atlantic, Iowa. That was in 1951 and 55 years later I am still in the industry and I still own the very same farm in Atlantic, Iowa that my grandpa raised his family on. Today, my business is in Livestock Marketing in Aromas, California. I developed an Animal ID program six years ago for producers to use. The program will identify 45,000 cattle individually, setting the stage for the highest quality, most tender beef to enter the food chain. In addition, I practice good land stewardship through the development of a water plan that involves routing water around the facility, keeping pens clean and testing water below our operation to ensure we are not polluting the creeks and streams. I feel it is very important that the youths in the industry start to think about and help develop the technological side of the business. The youth can be leaders in this industry by using and advancing the technology to help this industry continue its efforts to produce the highest quality beef in the world. Slideshow
